Mnemba Island is a Marine Conservation area with a vast oval reef system filled with colourful fish and corals. This is the best snorkelling spot on the Island with crystal clear turquoise water. You can expect to see lion fish, moray eels, stingrays and turtles swimming around in the shallow water. If we are lucky you can jump in the water surrounded by dolphins. A lunch will be served on Muyuni beach: fish barbecue, fruit and water.
Swimming, feeding and touching the giant turtles and the fish in the natural aquarium in Nungwi is sensational for anyone loving the experience of interacting with animals. This day our guide/driver will take you there and back when you feel ready to continue your Zanzibar holiday in Nungwi.
On our way to Jambiani we stop at the lush rainforest Jozani a hot-spot of biodiversity and stunning scenery. The rainforest is home to 3500 Red Columbus Monkeys, only found in Zanzibar. Other animals to be seen when walking the natural trails lined with eucalyptus and mahogany trees, is Blue Sykes Monkeys, elephant shrews and bush babies.
We suggest to take a loooong beach walk and stop for a fresh fruit jucie on the way.
The sea surrounding Kizimkazi in the South, 20 min from Jambiani,is home to large numbers of bottle-nosed and spinner dolphins, beautiful coral reefs and tropical fish. The boats can get as close as 10 m from the dolphins as they jack-knife through the water. After a couple of hours you will return to the beautiful beach of Kizimkazi, where you can enjoy lunch (available at Karamba Resort or the local restaurant) and a swim in the shallow Waters.
Time for a walk out towards the reef at low tide? You will experience the most amazing water you laid eyes on.
